Christopher Peter Meloni has been an acclaimed American actor throughout his career. He is most known for the roles he was in "Law & Ordinance Special Victims Unit". His interest in acting began during his college years. He studied acting at University of Colorado at Boulder. Although he worked in film and TV and on stage, his appearances on the small screen are what brought him much fame. He has the ability to portray two characters, one from the perspective of police officers and different. This is the reason that has made him so popular. When he first appeared on television, for his debut show, he was the role of a serial killer. Then, he played the character of an NYPD Investigator. The actor has been nominated several times for the prestigious Emmy Awards and the PRISM Awards for his smaller screen performances. One of his most striking facial features is believed to be his distinctive blue eyes. They are believed as a signature and have aided in depicting tough characters that have charisma. People's magazine listed him as one of the Sexiest Men Alive for 2006.
