Amanda Brugel

Pointe Claire (February 27, 2010 (February 27, 2010) Toronto ON). Pointe Claire is a quiet community located in the West Island, which is part of the Montreal island. This part of the island known as West Island can be confusing to those unfamiliar to its significance. They often believe it's an island to the to the west of Montreal however the West Island encompasses everything between the two cities of Lachine and West. Amanda Brugel is said to have been born on West Island. However, it's not the case. Brugel grew in Courtice, just outside of Oshawa. She had a dream to become a dancer, however a rapid growth rate led to her growing beyond her dance partners. In an article from The Toronto Star she admitted In heels, I'm 6'1 inch. When I reached the height of the size of my male friends then I stopped. Dancers who have been in the past often switch to acting and in the instance of Brugel,, it was an urging from her high school teacher of drama. She was encouraged to take part in an audition in the school's production. The teacher who suggested she go after a role in the annual school production. Following her award of the Fine Arts Talent Scholarship, she enrolled in York University and earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in the year 2000. Since then, Brugel has been performing in over 60 plays, smaller and large. Most notable was when she landed the role of Rita on The Handmaid's Tale. Brugel was the sole Canadian in the Season 1 cast of the show and only seen occasionally was the sole Canadian.
